I like the SkyCourt Lounge at Budapest Airport for its comfortable interior, quieter atmosphere and cold buffet. Here’s what to expect, including its limited hot-food hours.

The SkyCourt Lounge at Budapest Airport is a decent option for a short stop before a flight. The interior is modern and comfortable, and in my experience, it’s usually considerably less crowded than the Platinum Lounge.
The food selection isn’t particularly impressive, especially outside lunchtime, but I enjoy the cold salads and individually portioned desserts. For a short stop before a flight, I think it’s a pleasant place to spend some time.
📍 Location and Access
The SkyCourt Lounge is located on the mezzanine level of SkyCourt in Budapest Airport’s Terminal 2, after security, between Terminals 2A and 2B. It’s open daily from 04:30 to 21:00 and accepts Priority Pass members, along with passengers who qualify through participating airlines and other lounge-access programmes.
🛋️ Seating and Atmosphere
What I particularly like about the SkyCourt Lounge is its interior. The cream-coloured sofas, green plant walls and different seating areas give it a much more welcoming feel than a typical airport lounge. There are comfortable armchairs, smaller tables and a separate section with higher tables and red chairs. A business corner with computers and a printer is also available.
In my experience, the SkyCourt Lounge is significantly less crowded than the Platinum Lounge at Budapest Airport. That alone makes it a more enjoyable option, especially when I want somewhere comfortable to sit before boarding.
🍴 Food and Drinks: Better for Cold Snacks Than Hot Meals
The food selection is fairly limited, but there are a few things I genuinely like. In particular, I enjoy the individually portioned desserts and cold orzo salads. During my visits, I’ve seen options such as wraps, sliced cheese, cold cuts, fruit cups, yoghurt and prepared salads. The dessert fridge is especially appealing, with small portions of apple pie dessert, chocolate and sour cherry dessert, and packaged cakes.
The main limitation is the hot-food service. Hot food is only offered between 12:00 and 15:30, which is a rather narrow window. Since I almost never fly around midday, I haven’t tried the hot food myself, so I can’t comment on its quality or variety.
The drinks selection includes coffee, tea, soft drinks, wine, beer and spirits.
⭐ Is the SkyCourt Lounge Budapest Worth Visiting?
For me, yes, especially since I can access the lounge with Priority Pass through myAmerican Express Platinum card. I prefer the interior to the Platinum Lounge, and in my experience, SkyCourt is considerably less crowded. I also particularly like the individually packaged desserts and cold salads.
The limited hot-food hours are a drawback, particularly for early morning or evening departures. Since I rarely fly around midday, I haven’t tried the hot food myself. For a short stop with Priority Pass access, however, I find SkyCourt a decent option.
