I visited the SWISS Business Lounge A at Zurich Airport in the afternoon with a Business Class ticket. Considering Zurich is SWISS’s main hub, I was surprised by how small and crowded the lounge felt. Finding an available seat was difficult, and the food selection was nothing special.
📍 Location and Access
The SWISS Business Lounge A is located in Lounge Centre A at Zurich Airport, after security in the Schengen departures area. I accessed the lounge with my Business Class ticket. Eligible frequent flyers can also enter, while paid access may be available for qualifying passengers.
Opening hours: 05:30–22:00 daily. Check the official SWISS lounge information before travelling, as hours and lounge locations can change.
🛋️ Seating: Too Small for Such a Busy Airport
My biggest complaint was the lack of space. Considering how many passengers travel through Zurich with SWISS, I found the lounge surprisingly small. During my afternoon visit, there were barely any available seats. The lounge has different seating areas, including tables, armchairs and reclining chairs, but it was simply too crowded to feel comfortable.
For me, an airport lounge should be somewhere to escape the busy terminal. Here, finding somewhere to sit felt almost as challenging as outside.
🍴 Food and Drinks: Nothing Special
The food selection wasn’t particularly impressive either. During my visit, the hot buffet offered just three main dishes:
Swiss minced meat with Hörnli pasta: Served with applesauce and fried onions.
Madras vegetable curry: With carrots, broccoli, cauliflower and rice.
Penne Cinque Pi: Pasta with tomato, pepper, cream, parsley and Parmesan.
There was also a selection of salads, bread, pastries, desserts and fresh fruit. I certainly wouldn’t have gone hungry, but I expected more variety and quality from SWISS as some cheap pasta. For such a busy international hub, the buffet felt fairly ordinary rather than something worth arriving early for.
The drinks selection was better, with wines, spirits, soft drinks and coffee available at the self-service stations.
⭐ Is the SWISS Business Lounge A Worth Visiting?
In my opinion, only if access is already included with your ticket or frequent-flyer status. The lounge provides the basics, but I wouldn’t pay extra to visit. During my afternoon stop, it was far too crowded, and the limited food selection did little to improve the experience.
My verdict: Disappointing for the main hub of SWISS. Hopefully, the new lounges planned for 2027 will offer more space and a better experience.
